If you’re looking for an upbeat, bright, and accessible up-and-coming beauty YouTuber, pop by gahbrezzy’s channel. We think you’ll fall in love. With diverse inexpensive hauls, monthly favorites, and an annual Halloween tutorial to look forward to, this channel is super fun and very fresh! We talked to Gabby about her channel and goals for this week’s Grapevine Community Spotlight, and here’s what she had to say.
You just passed 6K subscribers, how does it feel?!
If feels awesome! I never thought so many people would want to watch my videos. It’s kinda surreal and scary to think that so many people watch your videos but I really do enjoy being a YouTuber. I feel motivated every day knowing that people enjoy my videos enough to subscribe.
What inspired you to get into YouTube?
When I first started back in 2009, I loved how there was a beauty community where I could learn and share my own tips and tricks. I felt inspired to start my own channel and to connect with other YouTubers and create the kind of content I enjoy watching.
You do a lot of inexpensive hauls and products, what is the motivation behind that?
I just want to reach out to people on a budget. I myself was once a college student on a budget and I loved watching people do hauls on what they bought so I thought I would do that too, and show where they could get fashionable items at a great price. Plus I enjoy filming this type of video!
What do you think your subscribers would say if we asked them why they’re subscribed to you?
I’m hoping they would say because “gahbrezzy is awesome!!” Lol, but no but really I think they would say because she’s someone I can relate too and she’s fun to watch. I also take the time to reply back to my subscribers and really engage with my viewers.
Your editing is really creative, how has that evolved since you started your channel?
My editing has evolved so much. I started out using Windows Movie Maker and now I’m working with both iMovie and Final Cut Pro. I am much more tech savvy and I try to learn new things every day to bring a little something different every time I upload a video. I want my viewers to really enjoy the content of the video but also be able to enjoy the editing that goes along with it.
What would you say to someone thinking of starting a YouTube channel?
I would say just go for it! It’s a great platform to get yourself out there. Just be yourself and make videos of something you love to do. Most importantly, have fun!
Any big plans for this year? What are your channel goals?
I hope to go to some social events this year. I need to connect with more YouTubers and make more youtube friends. My channel goal is to hit 10k this year (or maybe even more)!
